The other sites owned by the same people have a pretty good track record. I've had zero chargebacks and 4 "credits" out of 131 sales and 106 rebills. That means 4 people have called or e-mailed and gotten their money back, and none have had to contest the charge with the credit card company. In other words, there are no signs of problems in the stats...

HOWEVER, the sites were sold a little over a month ago. I don't have enough of a track record with the new owners to know whether there will be problems. However, I've never heard anything bad said about them either.

I got suckered by the popboys site! Its a hot site but when I tried to cancel it said that it couldn't locate my membership. My email for help was replied to several hours later and said my membership was cancelled. 3 days later my credit card was billed for $150.00!!!! I couldn't believe it and VISA told me that because I authorized the $1.00 charge that the companies could argue they had permission and it was up to the vendor (website) whether they wanted to refund my money but they would argue on my behalf. I emailed these companies over 200 times calling them every name in the book. The managers are only reachable by email and many of the toll free numbers don't work from canada. I was livid! I am still waiting for 2 more refunds from sobvsites.com (bastards) and prize-help.com (techassist.com did refund my money).

What a scam. Ben Haller is so fucking hot he deserves a better sales representative. I woulda paid 10 times that if I got what I was actually paying for. I didn't want memberships to hetero sites with tits and snatch. Ben... your cocks worth money... you just gotta sell it better.

In case anyone else has billing problems with these sites (popboys, cumintomyass, stretchhisass, harry-forman, qsolo, twinksfilledwithcum, twinkfuckfest, etc.) and can't get a response from the site owners - let me know (rawtop@yahoo.com) and I'll contact them via ICQ for you. Email to them seems "problematic" - some e-mails I sent them never got a response. But I can IM them on ICQ and get quick answers...

Once I got a hold of them they resolved my issue pretty quickly and the manager seemed like a nice guy to boot... I'm not getting the sense there's any intent to screw people - just technical problems with their e-mail...

Really? My friend works with one of these places (none of the sites listed here) and they definately intend to screw people. It's how they make their (your) money.

@Brendon - Just yesterday there was a thread on one of the gay webmaster forums about the company that bought all those sites and launched the two new ones. It is a bit of a game, unfortunately, where they try to get you to sign up for things you don't intend. If you're careful, there's no problem, but if not you can get things charged to your card you didn't want. That said, they say they have a low chargeback rate which means when people ask for refunds they get them.

I agree with all the remarks here. The billing website doesn't recognise username and email. Tip: start a customer service chat and it should be cancelled quickly.

Until the summer, popboys.com was quite a good site, with regular new content and refreshingly uncomplicated. Then the updates stopped, and the billing continued and I cancelled. Out of interest I bought a trial membership to have a look and, yes, the last update from september is still the most recent one.

I do have the feeling now that it is a purely money-making operation, earning from people who forget to cancel. Perhaps the other websites in the popboys "family" are good. I never cared for them. Such a shame to see Ben sell out as he had such a good site.

I've also had a bad experience. The SBVMEDIA / SOBV INTERNET portfolio of sites is impressive in its content however, they really need to work on their billing practices. Customer service leaves alot to be desired with this business regardless of whether you contact them via phone / live chat / e-mail. I've canceled two of my credit cards and had them reissued in the past month simply because their membership cancellation process never canceled my re-occuring memberships and a follow up call to their toll free customer service number got me through to a very abrupt man who said he couldn't find my membership details from my username or e-mail address and that I should give him my full name, address and credit card details so he can do a search. I declined and asked to speak to his manager at which time he hung up.

rawTOP, you have probably never had a bad experience with their sites as you give them positive content reviews. They aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them..

@Truman - That company is the reason why I put up the "porn buyers guide" at the top of every page in the porn section. Good content, but you need to be careful.

Definite BAD EXPERIENCE. I would definitely advise anyone to stay away from this site.
